Study that serves the local church
Pastors bring the questions of daily ministry into the classroom: how to understand Scripture, prepare a sermon and help others grow in faith. Bible-school training makes room for focused study and learning alongside fellow leaders, with the local church as the place where that learning is put to work.

“to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ”
October 19–23, 2026
This month in class
The October class is underway, with Raban teaching 1 & 2 Corinthians. Pastors are studying together in the classroom and in small groups outdoors.
A partnership for deeper learning
The Mobile Bible School partnership connects training through Africa Renewal Ministries and Africa Renewal University with PSM’s local hosting and Expand Uganda’s financial support. Each partner contributes to making formal study available to pastors serving their congregations.
The purpose is practical as well as academic. Leaders study while continuing to carry the responsibilities and questions of ministry. The classroom gives them time with teachers and peers who can help them develop their understanding.
The commitment behind the classroom
The early foundational program brought Ugandan Bible teachers together with pastors for 12 week-long courses. Participants made time away from work and their households to study, share meals and learn alongside one another.
That commitment is part of the story behind the graduation celebrations. The partnership helps make the opportunity available; the pastors bring the time, attention and effort that learning requires.
Learning from teachers and one another
In June 2025, Naphtali shared Pastor Pius’s account of learning sermon preparation and other ministry basics through both the teachers and his fellow pastors. Pius wanted to continue into further diploma study.
That reported experience shows why the relationships within the class matter. Alongside the course material, pastors have people with whom to discuss what they are learning and the work they are doing in their churches.

Building on the first cohorts
The first year, 2024, trained 29 pastors. A further 33 completed the 2025 program and graduated in January 2026. Of those first 62 trained pastors, 38 continued into the advanced class in 2026.
These cohorts form part of the partnership’s continuing work of equipping church leaders. Formal education sits alongside local teaching, pastoral fellowship and discipleship in congregations.

Carrying the learning home
Pastor Richard Majambere’s published testimony describes the place of training in his preparation for ministry. His account connects study with the calling and responsibilities he carries as a pastor.
The wider aim is for what pastors learn to serve others: in their preaching, their care for people and their ability to help another person understand Scripture. The Training and Discipleship page follows that work beyond formal study.
Pray for the pastors, their teachers and the congregations they serve, that learning will deepen faithful ministry and encourage others to grow.
Share in the work
Pray with the churches, follow their stories and help resource the ministry.
