Churches encouraging churches

Local churches are at the heart of Expand Uganda’s partnership with Pastoral Support Mission. Ugandan pastors and congregations lead the work of sharing the gospel, making disciples and planting churches. The partnership helps connect those leaders with encouragement, training and resources for the ministry they carry.

Encouragement for the people who lead

Pastoral ministry involves teaching, caring for people and walking with a congregation through everyday life. Leaders also need fellowship, prayer and people with whom to consider the challenges of that work.

PSM brings pastors into relationship with one another. Expand Uganda participates through friendships, visits, support and a shared commitment to help leaders continue serving Christ and their communities.

Training that reaches beyond one church

Equipping leaders is part of helping churches grow. Bible-school study and discipleship training support pastors as they teach Scripture and prepare others to serve.

Churches also share in outreach and ministry gatherings. These occasions give leaders opportunities to work together and encourage believers beyond their own congregations. The responsibility for local ministry remains with the Ugandan people who know and serve those communities.

Vision Community Church is part of this story of churches planting churches. Pastor Wilson’s church-planting work features in the partnership’s 2025 accounts.

A welcome at Kabuga

In August 2026, PSM leaders visited Kabuga Community Church during the mission in Kamwenge. The photographs show church members receiving one another, and the field updates describe the ministry gatherings there and in Mirembe.

The welcome is a simple picture of the partnership’s purpose: people meeting face to face, sharing in the gospel and strengthening the relationships through which ministry continues. The dated mission report follows what happened during those gatherings.

Getting to know the church family

Behind every church name are people, leaders and a community. The church directory, map and family tree offer ways to explore these relationships and see where the partnership serves.

Some local names, locations and planting relationships still need confirmation with PSM. The family tree preserves the story of churches encouraging and planting churches as that history is brought together.

Pray for healthy congregations, encouraged pastors and faithful disciple makers, and for the communities where new churches are taking root.
