Returning to Kakumiro.
A return visit made room for baptism, a shared meal and continued Bible study.
When the PSM team returned to Kakumiro Prison in August, many of the people they had met in May had been released or transferred. Others were still there, waiting to be baptized.
The August 9 field report records 39 baptisms and 28 new professions of faith. These are separate measures: those baptized included people who had come to faith during the earlier visit.
More than a single visit
The team also shared a meal with the prison community and introduced Discovery Bible Study. Returning gave them an opportunity to continue the work begun in May and meet people who had arrived since then.
The report helps explain why ongoing relationships matter to the ministry. People move between facilities and return to their communities. The team’s work includes both sharing the gospel and encouraging people as they learn to follow Jesus.
Pray for the continuing work
Pray for those learning to follow Christ, for the prison staff and for the pastors who return to teach and encourage them.
